why? most people seem to use 2 2l bottles for larger aquariums. i figured 4 1l bottles i could keep the co2 more constant and have more control.

well i have low light plants so i only want to boost it into the 15-20 range but i guess i'll upgrade to oceanspray bottles.

i would add more check valves on each section this way you dont let all the gas out when you swithc things around. a good idea is to have them staggered. like 2 one week needs to be replaced 2 the next week. while smaller bottles are more effecent vs one larger one in a 55 gallon i would also use 2L bottles.

well i guess you all are right. i just measured my ph and it's down to 7.6 from 8.0 but i have a dkh of 10 ish but i used a test strip to determine dkh around 180 ppm which is around 10 degrees right? but anyways if i'm right then i only have around 7.4 ppm of co2 up from 3 ppm, thats with 3l of mixture. i guess it helps to slowly move down your ph with adding smaller bottles at first and slow working your way up right?
