So my protein skimmer doesn't fit

My mini internal skimmer doesn't fit. Should I return it? I bought it online at That Fish Place. My local hardware store.can't cut the glass, and last time I tried cutting glass... it didn't go over so well... any ideas or should I return it? I have a 29gallon. skimmer is 115 internal mini skimmer.

Check around for a local glass shop, I have one a few blocks from me and they can cut to order

Replace the glass with a piece of acrylic if you are not comfortable with cutting it.
