Can u tie plants to rocks

Live plants? Yes, but you need to know how the plant species you have absorbs its nutrients. Some are root feeders meaning they pull the nutrients up through their roots that need to be planted in the substrate. Others have Rhizomes that will die if they are buried. These plants would be fine to tie down to rocks or wood as they pull the nutrients in to their leaves directly from the water. Hope that helps.

+1. It really depends on your plant species. Rhizonmous plants like anubias and java fern prefer to be tied to rocks, dw, and other fixtures above the substrate level. Most other species will do much better being in the substrate where their extensive root systems can better reach nutrients. I use fishing line and thread for getting plants to stay on rocks.
