Haven't added plants, new fish, anything in about 6 months and a few days ago, I rearranged my plants and notice one snail in the tank layer that day. Now there are about 20 snails. How is this possible? Where did it come from.

They are very good at hiding, you probably just didn't notice them because a lot of them come out when it's dark.

Are they Malaysian trumpet snails? Google image if you're not sure. If so, they usually bury themselves when lights are on and come out at night. These snails are actually beneficial and won't harm plants.

They look like baby Malaysian trumpet snails, transparent shells, and pretty small.

If they are MTS, don't worry... as long as you don't over feed the tank, their population won't explode. They help by eating detritus and stirring up the substrate as they borough.

A picture if possible would help but MTS have conical shells and not transparent even when small.
