Black neon tetra has a pale/pink spot on his side and is gasping for air! Any ideas?

Well hard to say with no data. What are your water parameters? Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and pH? How long has the tank been running? How big a tank?

Tanks been running for 7 months, cycled fully. All water parameters are perfect. I do water changes twice a week and test 3x a week

Do you have an air stone? Could be an oxygen issue...
