Safe disposal of chemicals?

HI all,
When I first got started, I was given a pile of test kits. Sadly, they were all expired and failed to give accurate readings. I need to get rid of them, but don't want to just toss the chemicals in the rubbish. Any thoughts on safe disposal options? (I'm in BC, if that has any influence on your suggestions!)

Local fire station or EMS locations. I know the fire departments will take stuff and then dispose of it properly.
