I just joined recently as I'm currently in the process of setting up my 6ft aquarium. My parents had fish when I was growing up but this is my first tank on my own so I want to try to do it right.

Welcome aboard. When you say 6 ft you are talking 125 gallon?

Its a little bigger actually, closer to 150 gallons

Welcome aboard. You will find alot of great information here, and keep in mind that alot of things have changed since you were a kid. Old practices vs. new ones. The hobby has definately evolved.
