Which filter is better for a 90 gallon freshwater tank?

I don't think either one are going to do the trick by themselves. I would look into some of the larger canister filters.

Agreed, but if you are looking at a comparison of those two as part of a filtration system, I prefer the ACs, as they allow for more media customisation, and have that 500gph flow rate.

You can mix and match the media in the basket almost infinitely....for instance, I run mine with big sponges as well as bag of whatever bio-media I like...and the ACs will hold a lot of media, whereas the others are all designed for a fairly infexible cartridge.

I prefer my Emporer 400, but I've used the same filter for abou 12 years now with no problems.
