You can also tell by looking at the female "tube" it should be bigger/longer then usual.

I have been looking for the "tube".....tonight it is visible!! It must be getting close! im excited! do they usually spawn in the am?

True but I have them alone with plenty of cover and cave...plus 40-50% pwc's 2xs a week! They must be happy if they are ready to spawn.

The tank I want to put them in is a 20g L and has 2 platies in it...
Parameters are solidly:
Ph-8.0
Ammo-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-10
