I decided to set up an old 10 gallon tank I had sitting around. I wanted to do something colorful and fun with this tank. This is my first time using sand. The tank is still cycling so I won't be adding any fish any time soon. I am trying to get some ideas for colorful fish for this tank. I was thinking maybe something like a dwarf gourami in the blue color, but that's the only fish I can think of for now. Any ideas?

Would the guppies be ok with the Gouromi? I'm a little tired of Neon Tetras as I have had them before. I would even be happy if this tank only had 2 fish. I would prefer something a little bigger than the Neons, but small enough for a 10 gallon.

Endler's live bearers are colorful fish.

Glofish would work well in there too.

Okay, I'm gonna agree on the glo-fish. With a black light, I'd bet those decorations would look wild! Well, wilder anyway...heh. Shame it's not bigger, khuli Loaches weaving their way around and through all that would be fun to watch too, assuming the decor isn't to rough.

For some reason I have never been a big fan of glofish.

actually they have a flourence gene bread in through selective breeding no harm or dye comes in contact with the fish

Actually, that's completely incorrect. Wolf got it correct and they're not hurt nor deformed, but they're very useful in testing bodies of water for contamination which can save millions of lives in critical situations.

there actually zebra dainos with that special gene bread in ive seen a school of half daions half glofish only difference is coloration

i dont see how theyre illegal theyre a fish

if there released into local waters weither accidently or purposely they can thrive and out compeate the local aquatic life and multiply like crazy

But that could be said about any non-native fish couldn't it?

any that could surive native climate like if i throw a betta in the stream its probly to cold etc. but i could be wrong but ive seen states ban fish for this reason before

I read that they are illegal in California as well. I just don't like them because they remind me of the plastic fish in the little fake aquariums.
