So I found some ammonia. How much does it take to dose for a 10g?

Read up some, dosed it to somewhere between 2-4ppm. Will test tomorrow again and dose as needed.

You've dosed to a good amount. I went to 4ppm so I could count on a strong bioload capacity. But 2-4 is good as well. Just keep it at least at 2ppm.

Man I wana go with carey, id say 1 clown, and a lil goby they are really silly to watch. And snail and hermis of course.

I think the plan right now is for 1 clown, 1 goby, and 1-2 hermits. I need a new hood for the 10g. One that will hold a light needed for some corals later on. I've done some looking but can't find anything really, there has to be something out there.

I just got a coralife t5 24 in. Double for 50 bucks at my lfs. It hangs over the sides a bit, but the light for 10 g is still really nice.

If I wanted to add more rock after I have fish is it safe to put dry rock in at that time?

Carey I just got that oddysea fixture in the mail yesterday and I have to say for 50 bucks you will never beat it

It's not a bad little fixture for the money. And it has moonlights right? Good entry level unit in my opinion. Glad youre happy with it :)

Ya it has 4 led moonlights but they are almost to bright it looks like actinic lights are on

Alright I need some help. I tested all parameters today for kicks. As you can see 0 trites/trates. However the past 2 days the SG has been at ~1.022, today it is reading 1.028. I'm a little confused. Only difference I've noticed to the tank is I have my white milky bacteria bloom this morning.

Swing arms are notoriously in accurate. You have to make sure ALL the little bubbles are off the arm.

You are cycling the tank right? Cause if that first tube is ammonia you are off the charts! LOL

AHH! You were right Carey, there was like 2-3 tiny bubbles I didn't notice! The picture is showing it a little darker than what it is. I read it at like 4-5ppm-ish, fishless cycle no worries :D. The SG is right where is has been between 1.022-1.023.

LOL. Those tiny bubbles will kill ya I say. Next time you get like $30 you might wanna get a refractrometer. Very precise and really quick. You don't even get your hands wet. :)

So hatter is there any updates on what you plan to stock this tank with

I think I'm set on 1 clown, 1 goby, 1-2 hermits right now. I saw some pics of the yasha goby I think it was and me and my girlfriend really liked it. Not sure if the LFS has one but I did see a few yellow gobies and some blue leg hermits. Then I would like to add some corals as well. I have no clue what will work so I will need some help there. I'll probably get the Odyssea hood Carey posted earlier so what would work with that? I put the old hood on so I could get a shot with the lights on for everyone to see in the next post!
