Hey guys and gals...
So I picked this up for a very reasonable price. I am curious if I made the best move, or if the LFS scammed me? I paid $80, brand new, in the box. here are the specs:
(1) 10,000K Daylight Lamp.
(1) Actinic-03 Lamp.
(6) Blue Moonlight LEDs
The total output is about 80 watts. I believe its right at 78w to be sure.
We have a 30g tank... Now, the main question is, Does the old rule of 3 - 5w per gallon still apply for High Output lighting??? I know when it comes to LED lighting, the wattage does not apply, or is different. Does this still remain true for HO? I had let the sales person know that eventually I would be interested in growing coral in the tank, so now, after doing some readying, no one has really said anything about High Output units.
Whats everyone opinion? I'm curious if I need to invest in LED when I'm ready.
