Congrats!! I'm excited for you. You know if you'renot ready to add fish yet you can always stay fishless for a while, just add 1-2 tbsp of ammonia a day to keep the BB alive.
Cool plants. You should check out Peabodysparadise.com I bet Jetta has a bunch of plants you'd like and probably has the lowest prices out there for buying online.
Edit: oh yea, what's water spangles?
Ohh okay, my bad, I'm not familiar with salvinias common name
Here's my custom stand build for my new 75g, took a few ideas from a few diff people off the net. Total cost was about $55. I did, however, have a piece of sanded hardwood plywood, oak I think, that I used for the middle side inserts. I've had that piece of wood for years don't remember why I bought it but I remember it was pricey. Other that that it's all 2x4s, 2x6, and a 3/8 pine plywood piece used for the top, the back panel, and lower kinda recessed shelf. I used one coat of "ebony" stain and 2 coats satin rub-on poly. I was going for a distressed/aged look to match a few of our other furniture pieces and I got pretty close. As Im not a carpenter by any means Im pretty happy with the finished product. I just posted my first dirting pics on the "planted tank" forum. I hope somewhere in your thread you mentioned where you ordered your plants from they look great. I cant find anything around me except petco and their plants look horrible and have no selection whatsoever. and we only have a few LFS here and the only one near me really doesn't have much in the freshwater category.
