Hello everyone! It's been awhile. I recently acquired a SPS coral frag. I have a Kessil 360W providing the light it needs. My question is:

I plan on being away from home. How long can the SPS last without lighting? I don't have a controller and not entirely sure I can attain one in time. Will the SPS be ok for about a week without light? Or is worth having the light on 24/7, till I return home (and just deal with the algae)? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would suggest picking up a cheap timer from somewhere like Walmart and put the light on a timer. You can get one for a few bucks and it will make your life a whole lot easier. :)

You guys rock! I was wanting to get the new Kessil controller ($99). I thought that is how much they typically were.

Like the others said a cheap timer will turn the power to your light off when it hits a certain time and turn the power back on when you set it too. Jut set a 10 hour cycle and it will be fine :)
