I grabbed a couple sunsun canisters for a tank and set them up a couple days ago. They're right next to each other. One is totally silent and the other, after about a day and a half is making a sort of buzzing/vibrating sound. Reminds me a bit of a faulty ceiling light. Ya know when they flicker and make a sort of buzzing sparky sound? I don't think it's an electrical problem with the filter though. Does anyone know what it could be and if I can fix it?
I checked the impeller and it seems ok and I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. Now that I've unplugged it and plugged it back in, it makes what I would consider a normal filter hum. Quiet, tolerable, though still a noise which is fine, but I find it interesting that the identical filter right next to it is absolutely silent. When I unplugged the buzzing filter, I couldn't even tell there was another filter on in the room. I put my head right next to the running filter and wondered if it was even running lol. It's only been a couple minutes since the buzzing stopped, so I'm not sure if it'll come back, but I'd still love to know the possible cause in case it does!
