Maybe not that way of doing it...but is there a way to make a drip system (kind of like the drip system they use for watering plants)?

You don't use SW. You need to use RO/DI or distilled water.

I would order a Fountain Tech FT-70 pump and 2 ft of 1/2" tubing from HEREAutoTopoff.com

And get one of these - AutoTopoff.com

Do you have a refractometer? If not, you'll need one.

Mattfin, I just realized my one pair of rams had wiggles and the other pair had free swimmers. It almost seems they consecutively breed together.

****. You going to raise them and sell?
I planned to sell some to stores.

Hoping the platy that I have is going to drop some fry while I'm away. I'm not going to be home for another 5 days

I bought the pairs in hope of breeding and selling them. then I moved and had to leave my tanks so rn I don't have a sufficient amount of fry tanks.

Hey guys, I am Raymond.

14, in Folsom, CA.

Know how you guys feel about this stuff and how you seem to be the only fishtank teen in your community. Some of you may remember my friend who goes through plecos like crazy. I don't count her.

I have a pretty sick 5 gallon planted that I can never get pictures of because of my crappy phone camera. I want to get some Dwarf Sag in there and also want to start a 75 and 40B soon.

I also have a 10 gallon that is housing a Red Claw Crab.
Any of you guys keep RCC?

Well this Christmas is going great so far! Got a Fluval P24 LED light, a Fluval 306 canister filter, and a coupon booklet thingy for petsmart. I saw some equipment things that caught my eye so that is nice. Quarantine tank may be set up sooner than I thought with the coupons :)

Nice! I got a new tank, another new tank, and some plastic plant decor! I hope to start cycling next week!

Can't wait to see the new tanks Fishobsessed. Going to my grandparents house shortly, and when I get home I will start setting up the filter. Plan is coarse mechanical sponge in its slot, medium mechanical sponge in the first basket, fine mechanical sponge underneath the 2 carbon bags in the second basket, and bio media in the final basket. Once I get more bio media I will probably take out the carbon bags. I might also use filter floss bags cut up in the final basket to help with the BB.

Sorry bout your betta! I had a friend's die during his birthday party. Very depressing. On the bright side you did get a computer!

Some of you might remember I am a fan of King of DIY (Aquariums) youtube channel. My aunt got me the king of diy paperback handbook which is pretty cool. You can't order paperback yet unless you bought the eBook and if any of you guys want the paperback, send me a PM with your email. I will send the link for the hardcopy. It's some pretty cool stuff.

My algae farm has started taking off with the warm and bright December we've had.

What do you guys feed your otos?

I feed new life spectrum h20 algae wafers to my ottos.

I don't have one. Should I get the hand held plastic one or the black skinny one? I think the skinny ones tend to be more accurate but then again I'm not very experienced in SW. So can I make a drip system and then use tank water from my freshwater tanks?

When you go from a filter that is 30gph to one that is 300gph almost everything in your tank looks like a rag doll in a hurricane. I installed the Fluval 306 with the intake in the lower back right hand corner and the output in the upper left hand corner. The output blows the water at an angle towards the front glass, and the current is really incredible. Coupled with thw new light, and I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Looking at the tank now with the blue lights on the current doesn't seem to bother the fish as much as the does. They all hunker down in the bottom 6 inches now they are swimming much higher.

Either or. And you have to use RODI or distilled water. Water from FW has a bunch of crap you DEFINITELY don't want in your SW tank.

Also, evaporation changes day by day, so a drop system wouldn't work.

What size is your tank and what light do you have?

It's 17 in deep, minus 2 for gravel. A 30 gal. corallife or something T5HO lamps and blue LED moonlights. 39 watts per lamp, 6500K.
