That was a bad idea... or a great one. Cheaper than amazon and so many things and stuffs for my wallet to cry over. $250 later... How'd I do bandit?

You'll be all good with that unit.
It will accept 10" cartridges from anyone..
I got one of those(well corallife) for free with other equipment and gave it to my buddy.
He always 'borrowed' cartridges from me...
And Brenna he has well water that burned up cartridges and DI media faster then me with all my tanks...
He only had a 75 reef and bought 'real' saltwater a lot of the time!

Now just to get it all hooked upped B!...
Another storage vessel...(garbage can?)...
With float valve....

Ok cool, it wasn't all that cheap so.. I'm just going to run it into a 22 gal can. I'll be using 8 gal/wk. For ram garden and another 15 gal a week for apisto tanks so if I just run it until the can is full and shut off feed o should be good??
Gillie- is this actually a. Elizabethae?? Can't be...

Gold fish are usually "slow" swimmers. Smaller fish that swim faster than gold fish will usually survive longer than slower swimmers. Also, if you provide hinding locations for the smaller fish to hide or "run for cover" they have a better change of surviving.

How much use can Brookster roughly expect to get out of the inserts?
I have hard water too & have been contimplating a ro unit...

sit in silence...

Gillie is probably still snowed in with pain kickers but here's the better pics. Black in the pectoral and no fear of the big guy??

How long carts last is hard to say..
But at Brooks pace they should last a year or more...
You need a pressure gauge, volumiser or tds meter to know exactly when the cartridge is clogged or spent.
Pressure should rise if filters are clogged,I don't like this method but do have pressure gauge built in on my unit...
A volumiser will measure the water in various ways in different stages.
FM-2: Filter Monitor with Volumizer - HM Digital - Bulk Reef Supply

And finally a TDS meter as the tds will rise as the filters become less effective.

1-3 years with 2-3 being more normal for the Thin Film Composite Membrane(TFC)

Here is a kit with an extra flush valve(we never talked about flush valves..)
BRS Universal to Universal Plus Upgrade Kit - Bulk Reef Supply

So they're worth 28/ea?? They had 4 pairs..
Edit- I just reserved 2 pairs. I'll move the macs to the new 30 and put the Elizabethae in the well mature 20l? I will have ro by then so I can get the ph down a bit.

I bought a replacement carbon tube for $3. I'm feeling pretty official right now. Just swapped females for the ram man. He's being a deack lately(crap water is wearing me thinks).. maybe get a 20t under the new 30 for eggs. At this point it's a freaking fish room with a couch and tv.. mine!!!! I make baby fish! Captain bootleg swooped in and rigged direct water to everything in the utility room! Should be ok for a few days. Braided hose to come.
