    Discus Advice

I have considered added 2-3 Discus to my 125 Gallon tank but am aware of the specific care involved and what I am wondering is how they wil be accepted into a very established tank. At this time in my 125GAL I have the following: 3 Balas, one approx 8" in length 2 Cory Cats 3 Adult Angels 1...

    pirahna

I've had a female Jaguar Cichlid for the past 2 years and she has got to be one of the most aggressive fish I've ever known. She has so much personality that one friend has nicknamed her "Tony Soprano"

    Question about moonlights---(neilanh influenced me :-) )

I have had great sucess making my own by purchasing the components from digikit.com I made a strip for my 6 foot tank for 15.00, and they look better then any others I have seen light wise. It takes some soldering skill and some wiring, but all in all it took me 2 hours from start to finish...

I know this may sound odd but....

Has there even been a matchmaker/date forum on here? It just makes sense that there was since everyone has at least ONE thing in common. I know allot them get weird, so I understand but it did seem plausible here since we are at least at first appearance seem normal. :) Just curious

    Angry Cichlid 125g

From various sources I have read that Jaguar Cichlids need plenty of room, If I remember correctly one breeding pair carries a suggested tank size minimum of 125 and preferably bigger. I have a solo Managuensis in a 56 gallon tank. There are some interesting insights at this web site I have...

Favorite strange / oddball FW fish ?

Out of the affordable odd ball fish I would have to say my Bichir is one character, and he is fairly large as are most of the fish in the community. Good thing too, since Bichirs will eat anything they can fit in their mouths. From the Jerrasic era as well so they've been around, supposedly...

How supportive are your partners in this hobby?

My wife loves both of our tanks. She gets very attached to the fish and even named some ( I know).. She never bats an eye when I've come home after spending 300-500.00 on new equipment etc. She's GREAT!!!!

I'm lucky my wife doesn't mind

Honestly there are. When I first acquired her the owner of my Mom & Pop LFS said she may be finicky for a short time on eating, but after she know you, she won't. Well he was exactly right. Now that she knows me I can feed her virtually anything and she'll try it if not devour it. Her favorites...

I'm lucky my wife doesn't mind

I bought her right after she had laid unfertilized eggs, so it was easy to tell the sex. From what I understand it takes awhile when they are juveniles since both males and females have stripes and spots but the males get lighter while the females get darker markings.

I'm lucky my wife doesn't mind

Exactly correct, Managuense is the correct species, from what I understand Gracie is pretty much full grown at 12" while males get somewhat bigger. She definitely has a personality and flairs when she's in a mood. She bit me once since I've had her but that was with eggs in the tank so it was...
