    Paratilapia bleekeri

I would think you could keep one in a 55 for a long time, he shouldn't get more than 10 inches IMO. They are beautiful fish!

    Missing my tank

No Jack's in those pictures. The 2nd pic is actually a large spot bleekeri, which is from Madagascar. The tank is 120 gallons and has an XP3 and a monster wet/dry underneath for filtration.

    What next for my 45

I would get a pair of convicts. They are underated, beautiful and fun to watch. Start with a handful until a pair forms. You could grow them out and they will keep you happy for a long, long time.

    Pale Texas Cichlid.

Oh, I thought he was in your 55, he sure needs a bigger tank.

    Pale Texas Cichlid.

Could be stress? Who else is in the tank? I find that they will look pale when they are no longer the dominant fish in the tank. My guess is that another fish has taken over and is stressing your texas out.

    Check this Cichlid Out!

I used to frequent this forum fairly often, has interest fallen? Just doesn't seem like there are many folks around anymore? This is a shame, I sure gained a ton of info from this site in the past.

    I need Oscar advice ASAP!!!

I think Christen is referring to JD's as Oscars and vice versa...

    I need Oscar advice ASAP!!!

The JD's need more room and will eventually eat all the fish you currently have. You will definitely need a bigger tank in the future, at least a 55. Good luck!

    Wolf Cichlid

Those are very cool fish, but they do get huge. What about a jag?

    Check this Cichlid Out!

Here are a few of my cichlids...

I will get a full tank shot asap. I always want to see full tank shot and then never take any of my own! I took the Blackbelt to the LFS last night for credit and safety. The midas was picking on him. :( The people at the LFS could not believe the size and beauty of the Blackbelt. They were...

    Giant gold barbs

Have you ever seen a full grown Tinfoil Barb, they are huge!!! Some barbs get unbelievably big, do a few google searches and you will be amazed.

    can i add more fish?

I would not add any more rainbows ($$$), my female JD would eat them in a heartbeat, only a matter of time with your JDs.. Maybe some more clown loaches and a cheaper dither fish like giant danios or rosy barbs. What sex are your JD's? Any pics?

    12 Gallon Eclipse Stocking ?

Now I'm bummed, the tank was used and doesn't have the motor and fitting for the filter...

What to put in my tank?

She's crazy, I have a 120 gallon setup that had been a Saltwater tank for year. I even used the same bioballs in the sump, just washed them off and filled it up. How about a female JD, one convict, and one firemouth. You could add some dither fish as well. Here's my female JD:

    12 Gallon Eclipse Stocking ?

Great idea, let's talk plants. Do I need to hookup anything special for a planted 12 gallon tank?

    12 Gallon Eclipse Stocking ?

Just obtained a 12 gallon eclipse. This is a new area of aquatics for me, since I usually have large tanks with large fish. I currently have a 120 gallon tank with a few monsters in it. I would like to have some type of breeding fish. Please give me some recommendations with the type and number...

    Green Terror with BGK?

Pair not a good idea, probably okay with one depending on tank size.

    New Additions

Hope your fry are doing well, I bet they have grown since the end of May. Do some research on the camera, it isn't easy getting the great shots that people post on the net. Wish you lived closer to Kansas, I would love some young kribs!

Starting out - Which aquarium should I get?

If you have room and funds, go for a 55 gallon. They are long and have the most versatile stocking options. I would buy the tank and stand from Petsmart if you can't find a used tank. I would order a filter online. Most accessories such as filter, heaters and such are much cheaper online than at...
