i'm looking for suggestions on a good schooling fish for my 55 gal planted tank i currently have mollies, platies guppies, and a pair of kribs in the tank now and want something that will school well. any suggestions would be great. thanks.

Brichardi are extreamly good parents chances are most of them will survive if you just leave them in the tank. i have a pair of them in a tank with 7 other africans and my brichardi keep the other africans corraled on one side keeping the fry safe.

has any one out there ever replaced a side on a glass aquarium. can it be done? what all is involved to get it to work. i recently got my hands on a free 70 gal the only problem is one of the sides has been almost shattered. is this worth trying to fix or is it not worth the effort?

i was just wondering why Java moss is so expensive. my lfs is selling it for $8 for enough to cover about a 3" x 2" area this seems a little expensive. what is a good price for Java moss, and how fast dose it grow?

is there a way to get 2.5 wpg without replacing the stock light fixtures that came with my tank. (is there a tube that will fit into a 18" fixture that will give me the light i need) as for the hight i'm not sure i will have to check on that when i get home.

i have two of the coral life tubes that are for fresh water plants (cant remember what they are called). I don't currently have any CO2 system, but i probably will end up getting one.

poikilotherm, thanks for the help. i'm thinking it probably is the Cottus bairdii. it look similar to the picture on fishbase just slightly different coloration.

has any one out there set up a tank with wild caught fish. from cold water streams. i have been thinking about doing something like this for a while. and was wondering if they are any harder to keep than a tank with store bought fish?

yea we already have a small fahaka puffer that should be real good looking when it gets it's color in. but we where looking at the arrow head because it was so aggressive. (my room mates kinda have a thing for aggressive fish that eat other fish). and since we have plenty of extra tanks lying...

i have a friend who has been trying to find an arrow head puffer. we havn't had much luck. i was wondering if any one had one and if so how and where they got it.

to be honest in my experience convicts really don't need any conditioning to get them to breed they are very prolific i had mine in my tank for all of 2 weeks before i had a batch of babies. and now i don't know what to do with all of them. running out of things to feed them too.

yea it's a pretty good store. it get's some pretty rare fish some times it had a black arowanna a few months back. it is the only store not a chain.
