Moving fry today to the grow out tank. That pair I had with the gold produced some amazing fry. Most have gold running up the dorsal and a black and silver marble body pattern.
Hopefully they'll be sellable in a few weeks as the LFS is dry on angels.
Well I attempted to move them and that isn't happening. I'll just throw a divider in then move them. They kept darting in with the others on the left side of the tank, lol.
These two pair will have me pretty busy over the winter, which is good.
Well I've had something unplanned happen, 2 of the 5 silver veils I purchased a couple of weeks ago have paired up and spawned in the grow out tank. :banghead:
Like Andy always said, the fish have a mind of their own. lol
So here's the deal, they spawned on the UV sterilizer in the right hand...
yay for free swimmers. They started taking off from the slate early this morning and about 90% of them are up and about now. Happy this has worked out.
Thanks Andy, I didn't know if that one would qualify as a marble.
well I'm proud to annnounce success with them getting their spawn to wigglers. They have moved them from the front of the slate to the top ledge for whatever reason. back when I had a larger amazon sword in there pair would...
Well since I botched last spawn I'm letting the parents try their hand this time. I noticed yesterday that compared to some other pairs I've had these two take a lot longer to get things done. My las two pair would drop eggs and the male would work right behind them. These two seemed to take...
I've gone veil crazy, lol
Traded 9 medium golds I had for 5 silver type veils today, one of with has one stripeless gene. (broken pattern) I also had one black lace that I picked up last week. So 6 in total in a big tank to grow and hopefully pair off in.
I moved some smaller golds around to...
I was just curious as to how grand things have become :fish1: I think I'm almost as bummed out as you are about your fry issue.
As for pairs I'm holding off for the moment.(future of LFS is looking rocky again) I was going to be down in your area later this month (turkey rod run in Daytona)...
Thanks, I've roughly got twice what's seen below now
I'm going to hopefully get up in the morning to good eggs
I also had another question for you. The clown one has gold in it's top starting to show, what would be the genetic marker for that one? My old silverxkoi pair prodced that...
I've got my fingers and toes crossed, lol
Feels so good to be back at it. I've missed the relaxation of it all. This has caught me by surprise so if they are viable I gues I'll hatch them in a speciman container. I would use a 5 or 10 gallon but all those are down.
