10 gallon stocking

I have a ten gallon tank and I was wondering if I could have
3 male guppies
6 neon tetras
Would it be overstocked.

Is that 10 US gal or UK gal?
10 us gal is about 38 litres
10 uk gal is about 45 lites...

General rule i see everywhere is 1cm of fish (when fully grown) to 1 litre of water. Obviously this changes though as you couldnt have a 38cm fish in a 10 gal tank...

aqadvisor.com puts you at about 95% stocked. So you should be good with a decent filter check out the website and play with some ideas.

It would be fine. You just need a filter rated for 20 gallons instead to keep you out of trouble.

I used to have many more fish than that and heavily planted and I kept that 10 gallon for 2 years. All was good.

Just do small water changes whenever you think you feel bored or you feel you have some time, then do bigger ones once a week.

I used to have a few platy fry and their dad , 6 neons, a tiny bristlenose pleco and two dwarf gouramis in mine. I also switched the lights for 2 of those wide spectrum, super bright Phillips spiral high efficiency bulbs. The plants help with filtration and oxygen.

Obviously it was heavily planted but never had any problems. I ran a 15 gallon filter then later on switched to 20 and turned the flow down a tiny bit.
