I've finally gotten rid of all my plastic plants and everything is growing steadily. My Hygro is growing about an inch a week, and I've been able to snip off and replant two Hygro shoots which are now growing quickly as well. My Xmas moss has tripled in size and the java fern is growing nicely as well but neither seem to have attached to the driftwood in the month that I've had them. The dwarf sag is going nicely as well as are the anacharis. The only problem I'm having is with my Vals on the left side of the tank. I've had them the longest, they're still green but haven't grown at all or sent out and runners.

Any suggestions for change or better plant growth are always appriciated!

Tank's looking great :) My only suggestion is too add more plants. Some ludwigia and/or star grass perhaps?

I was hoping that the Vals would fill out for a better background plant, but since that isn't happening I might try some watersprite.

I also want to get rid of that resin rock cave and replace with some real non-cave rocks. My ghost shrimp are the only ones who really use the cave and they have plenty of other hidings spots in the moss, plants and DW.

Mfdrookie is selling some watersprites, ludwigias and star grass. You might want to pm him now if you want to buy some for he will ship them out tomorrow.

that is hands down the coolest piece of driftwood i have ever seen ......did u find that at a store or did u find it.....im guessing found it??

+1 on the taler background plants

Thanks! I actually found it at a LFS. Set me back $150 but it was by far the biggest and nicest piece I could find.

I went to my LFS today to get some watersprite but they won't have any until May so it's gonna have to wait until then.

i love the DW as well, it's wicked. the tank looks great! congrats! :)

Nope, not using anything. The Vals look healthy, they just aren't growing or rooting at all.

OMG! The DW is so intense I thought it was fake!! Lol...wicked!

Time for a recent update!

We had a baby, my tank went to **** for a couple months and I've since been on the road to recovery with bringing it back to it's beautiful green self.

My Hygro grew like crazy and started turning brown at longest stems. I've cut it back to about 8 inches and it's doing well now.

My Christmas Moss exploded in size, but was overtaken with algae. I've gotten rid of all of it but I now have sprouts of what I hope is moss growing on my driftwood. Pics are attached.

I've also added:
7 scissor tail rasboras
2 fancy tail swords
2 silver mollies
2 yo-yo loaches
1 bristlenose pleco

Am I right in saying that new sprouts of moss are coming out of my driftwood?

Added some rock and anubias in an attempt to fill in some empty space behind my DW. This area is largely shaded due to the size of the DW.

Fingers crossed the anubias is able to stay green!
