I like nerite and nassarius snails. Only ones I can keep alive. Pyramid snails are a pain, just thankful they don't like clam in my case. They tore up the turbos I had for a year. I also have a conch that is cool to watch and gets pretty deep in the sandbed.
I order bulk snails off reefcleaners. They mass you snails. For the conch, he was me pushing into free shipping on a saltwater fish.com order.
I think they can help. Besides, it's pretty hard to get into trouble with snails. Proper flow is what keeps the rocks clean of detritus (which snails don't eat anyway). I like them because they do eat some algae. And they're natural.
OK, You fooled me cause most of the other fish are all Atlantics (including, unfortunately, P. volitans.) I'm thinking that Volitans have been released in Hawaii as well because the only endemic Lion that I know of is the P. sphex and that's more in the size and shape of the antennatas and radiatas not Volitans. I'm pretty sure the pic in your post is a black volitan Then again, as more areas of Hawaii were explored, they may have found natural Volitans. It's been a while since I've seen a Hawaiian stock list
Either way, they really are nice pics
