I recently purchased a 20 gallon long Marineland aquarium. After filling the tank, I measured the ends and middle to find out whether there was any bowing in the glass. I measured 29.4 cm on each end (front to back) and 29.7 cm in the middle (again, front to back). This appears to be a 3 mm bulge toward the center of the tank.

Ironically, I bought this tank to replace a 10 gallon that was also bowing.

Do others experience similar bowing or flexing with glass tanks? Is this normal? Is anyone with a Marineland 20 gallon long NOT experiencing this? I'm hoping there are some of you out there kind enough to look at a similar tank and share this information.

Thank you.

It is normal

Mine did the same thing and scared me every time I looked at it, but it never got worse and nothing ever happened because of it.
