So I have a 5 gallon crescent tank, it ha polished pebbles as a substrate, I want to add a betta, some anacharis, and a Marimo moss ball along with 4 ghost shrimp
I want to make it as low tech as possible with a sponge filter, what do you guys think about the idea? And how do I go about the sponge filter, how does it work?
Thanks!

Sounds good, except ditch the moss ball, they can be a problem. As for a sponge filter, you can buy one and run it with an airline. I use them in all my tanks. If you want to get fancy, place a flat garden stone up against the side of the sponge facing the front to hide it. I would wait on the shrimp for a few weeks after the betta is in.

Ok, sounds good! So it's like I put in one of the air pumps I would put into an air stone into the sponge or what?
