Just a little update. I rescaped it today. THe rock terrace is now in the middle of the tank. I like it better now, although my plants dont look so nice. Still growing well though. Water has been cloudy lately... i am treating with pimafix and mealfix, so i think it might be affecting my plants. It looks kindof crummy.... here are the pics.
I have a snappy remarks: all those tanks but no QT? Maybe the meds' effect on the plants will convince you to go get one! Tsk tsk.
It looks really good. I like the new scape much better. It's grown in a lot too. I like that last shot - it looks very dense. There seems to be a lot of depth and layering with all those broad leaves.
I think some macandra or some other red would be to die for in the back right corner right next to the ambulia.
Looks nice, let it grow in a while and it'll look great. i really like that Asian ambulia, once it gets warm enough to mail plants around here I've gotta beg some off someone and try it. I like the "mood lighting" too, with the spotlight effects at each end.
lol, thats not on purpose. I currently have 4 different light fixtures over this, some have blueish lighting, some have white light and some have yellow light. LOL
Haha, I was gonna suggest just sticking another light fixture on there so you could do some reds, but it sounds like you probably shouldn't add any more. It's pretty neat to mix the blue and yellow lights though. You could rearrange them and do all sorts of interesting effects.
thought it was time for an update. This tank has been through about 200 changes since I last updated. None of which scapes i liked. Finally, i rearanged some driftwood, got a few more plants, and just decided to spend a few hours rearanging until i liked the look. This is what it came out as.
My plants are:
asian ambulia
java fern
Echinodorus 'Rosé'
amazon sword
Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Tropica'
Cryptocoryne walkeri
Cryptocoryne parva
Bacopa caroliniana
fish are:
3x horseface loaches
8x red serpea tetras
1x angelfish
1x gold severum
5x tbar cichlid (temporary guest)
5x silver tip tetras (temporary guest)
1x spotted rapheal catfish
1x german blue ram
1x african butterflyfish (temporary guest)
now for the pic, i think photobucket is screwing up my pics, they are all pixilated once i upload them there, but are fine when printed or used elsewhere for viewing on my computer.
