I'm just starting up a 55 gallon aquarium and I have a few things I'd like advice on.

I want a very peacefull community, I'm changing my tank over from cichlids as I didn't like the aggression and how difficult it was to make them get along.

I would like ideas on plants, substrate, aswell as stocking options. I want a natural setup with some bright fish. Is it possible to incorperate a beta?

Any suggestions are appreciated :)

If you get a betta you want to stay away from fin nippers like tiger barbs. Also you shouldnt get long finned fish like fancy guppies becuase your betta may think its another betta. For a nice community tank i think rainbow fish are great. There very active and pretty. Great danios and zebra danios are also nice active top dwellers. For the bottom a school of cories would look great. Most live bearers are nice like platys and mollies. Also pretty much all tetras are nice and pretty. Hope that helps for fish.
