No question is dumb. This forum is all about helping others and making sure we have aquarists to keep the hobby alive. A well established well taken care of tank can last forever. My LPS has a brain that they have had for over 25 years.

As for the skimmer you should have or need to get a valve for the tubingImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1404782063.159084.jpg
Usually they only have one nipple but any type will work. If it's just the hose then placing tour finger over the end will cause the bubbles inside the chamber to stop. You can get this from a LPS or ever big box store like Petco, petsmart, and possibly a hardware store with a low pressure air tubing section. Really all it does is control the amount air allowed to enter the chamber. My skimmer is about as cheap as you can get and I get great skimate from it. It took a little bit to get the control right, but it's. Labor of love.

Fish are people too!!!

I use one of them to acclimate my fish, I will pick another one up tomorrow and try to reduce the amount of bubbles going into my skimmer. Now will that effect my adjustment? Right now I run it in between 2-3. Would I have to play with it again to get it just right?

I thank you for all your help I will get one to put on the skimmer tomorrow and update on how it is doing.

No thanks necessary. We re. Community and helping is why we do. It's all a learning curve.

Beautiful. I'm hoping to get some decent money from fam for birthday so I can get the mag 24. Big lesson. Pumping water upwards costs a lot of extra money.

Yea when I move im upgrading to a 120 and using the 75 as a sump in the basement. Atleast thats the plan but will probably change.

I'm still glad mines in the basement because my wife does daycare and I would constantly find toys in the sump, but man 300 for a return pump. I currently have a pump that does 1200 and one that does 2000, but none are rated for 13.86 ft. It sucks lol

I can't wait either. I was thinking of going with another True Percula, a McCosker's Flasher Wrasse, Yellow and Blue spot Goby, and if I find a really small Yellow Tang.

What livestock is currently in the tank? Flashers really need to be the first fish in IME as they are very timid and need time to establish themselves before competing with other fish.

I'm setting up my reserve water tonight. That was a chore. Also my snowflake/frostbite (can't tell difference) female got a dark grey spot on her side. So moved from DT to QT did a RO dip and the spot is gone. She is heavy breathing and not swimming as much. Not sure if just a stress spot of if it is actually clown ich. Don't want to have to do hypo treatment. Will see how she is in the morning. Ordered 100 nasarius(sp?) snails and 25 periwinkle snails( May go to LPS) for 27.50 on ebay. They are arriving along with my light for the biocubeImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1405060297.933936.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1405060312.790602.jpg
