One of my cockatoo females is guarding a buch of red dots under some Christmas moss; are they eggs? If so, I didn't know their eggs would be red. LOL At first, I thought it was bunch of cichlid pellets the didn't get eaten. I almost sucked them up with the Python, but she came out and made a big show. LOL Have I now spawned cockatoos?

Your fish must be as 'eager' (shall we say) as mine LOL. Can anyone give an account of a successful A. cactuoides spawn? Should I treat the eggs just like my ram eggs or what?

I believe that the apistos are much better parents than the rams. If you want to give them a try, keep the eggs with the parents.

My apistos looked after their fry quite well. However being in a community tank I think the Corydoras and the Tetras ate quite a few fry. I was able to raise a few through to adulthood, but as raising the brood was not my main aim I left the fry in the big tank.
