adding gravel

is there a way to add gravel to my tank without removing the fish and water?

Make sure its rinsed thoroughly to keep that fine particulate and dust from mucking up the water.
Remove some water from the tank to make up for what the gravel will displace.
Add it slowly, a little at a time. Don't want a fish buried under an avalanche.

do you think something like a giant coke bottle would help, cut the bottom off and use it like a funnel, or maybe a large sieve and slowly lower it to the bottom and tip? handfuls would take forever
