Adding rock?

I have a 55g FOWLR and want to add more rock. Right now I only have about 20lbs. What is the best way to add more rock? If I buy base rock can I just rinse and put it in or should I keep it separate and watch for any die off...is there even a chance of any die off I guess is my real question. My lfs sells what they claim is fully cured live rock, they also have tubs of not cured rock which I wouldn't buy at this point. The only tank inhabitant right now is an o. Clown.

buy the cheaper non cured and cure it yourself in a seperate tub with saltwater a heater and a powerhead.
