Hey all!

My favorite angelfish is acting funny after spawning. Her and her parter have spawned several times no issues.... until now... its like her egg tube is still open after 5 days of laying eggs. Also, 3 days before birth she started gasping (male was fine not gasping) . I assumed she was having a hard time laying the eggs. Well she finally laid them and continues gasping still to this day...

Now gasping for a week, and egg tube still open. Male seems fine.

All water parameters are in normal range this a old 55 gallon established tank.

I was thinking maybe metabolic acidosis and thats why shes gasping??

I am at a loss... I really wish I knew how to help my baby!

What can I do to help her? PLEASE HELP ME !!!

Just tested water 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 5 ppm nitrates. Ph in 7 range.
Hardness 5ish hard to tell. Theyve lived in this water for over a year no issues
All have been parasite treated

Theyre the only inhabitants of the tank.. w/ a bristlenose pleco.

Do you think MA just based on symptoms?
One treatment would be to raise the ph of the water if that is the problem. I think 7ph and 5 hardness is fine for angels .
How was the spawn? Was it normal size and quality ?

Temp is 80 ill try an airstone. Ive had her about a year.. this spawn was all dead infertile eggs. It seemed like the male and female also fought after this spawn. I was thinkin MA bc of the gasping and long labor.
