I have real plants in my tropical (freshwater) tank. They have something stringy hanging on some on the branches near the base of the plant. Looks a little like "silly string" but not as thick, it is the same thickness as the fish poop but 3 or 4 inches long! Can anyone tell me what it is and how i can get rid of it?

What kind of plant is it? It may very well be shoots.

If it is a stem plant it is probably roots. It is a sign of a happy plant.
