Aqua clear on saltwater.

Use a aqua clear on the tank, no media in it just a sponge, everything else is in the sump. Is this thing just putting nutrients in the water. Should I take it off. I clean the sponge about every 9 to ten days.

If the sponge that you clean is getting dirty then I say leave it be. It must be catching particulate matter thats in the water and getting that outta the tank is good.

Yeah just wasn't sure on how long it takes to start breaking down and start putting nutrient rich water back in the tank
