I have 4 of them, 3 females from a friend and one male from LFS. The male's tail fins is very brightly colored, and he also has spots of like, purple and orange all over his lil body. The females are pretty plain looking.. is that just the way the species is, or are they dyed (I hope not!)? Thanks!

I have never heard of a dyed guppy. The colors are a result of selective breeding. The show guppies are incredible.

Unlikly, most of the fancy guppies are suposed to be that color.

Using the method descriped in the other post, it would not be possible to die the tail of a guppy for example.

It does not sound like these guppys are dyed.

The males in general are alot more fancy than the females.

I have seen photographs of dyed guppys but they are mainly the females as the males are fancy enough naturally.
