Average time from nitrite spike to nitrate

Just out of wonder, what is the average time from nitrite spiking to seeing nitrates in a fish cycling tank. I just want to know how long (roughly) I'm going to be fighting nitrite. The tank is 30 litres, so quite small if that has any bearing on time.

In my recent experience, it took forever it seemed for ammonia to start turning to nitrites and once that started happening it was about a week or so before I started seeing nitrates. Once that happened the rest was fast. Within a few days I could spike my tank (75g) to 5ppm ammonia using pure ammonia and ammonia and nitrites would be at 0ppm within 24hours. So yeah...you're looking at maybe another week or two hopefully.
