I got the TDS down to 340. Another stem of star repens started to melt. Any ideas on why the ludwigia leaves are turned down?

Just got home from the long weekend. Not much change in the tank except needing another trim. The ludwigia leaves still look curled downwards on some stems. TDS was at 340. Going to try to do another water change tonight, that should hopefully get it down to about 250ish.

Going to shake up the lighting a bit. Ordered some mounts for my BML, going to have the current sat plus turn off while the BML is one.

You surely don't run both fixtures at the same time?

Surprised one would need a second fixture when using a BML. I figured the BML was more than plenty.

I could see it for accent lighting in the morning and night.. surely not for added power??

I use it for accent and effect lighting definitely not a NEED. Its only the sat plus so its only like 30 PAR. I dim the BML to like 50%.

Good news bad news. First good news, ludwigia is looking very happy now. TDS is now at 280, going to do another water change tomorrow. Bad news the most promising stem of star repens started to melt... I know shocker..,

Wow! The good, the bad & the ugly..seems like this tank can't win for losing..

sit in silence...

I've been silently sitting in the corner since pretty far back, seems like you've been on quite the roller coaster ride.
You've contacted some of the greatest minds in our reach and you still have persistent issues.
You've tried almost everything and still nothing, either the aquarium gods turned their backs on you or the problem is sitting right under our noses?
From what I've read I haven't seen (or just forgot) anyone mention the possibility of tainted silicone or something as general and odd as that?
My advice? Well before I get to that, ever played Fallout New Vegas? No? Oh well, anyway I would look into the possibility of beginning again. Or do a sort of phew I thing and get a new tank up...

I would love to just start from scratch again, currently finishing up my graduate degree and moving/starting work full time in January. When that happens I will have plenty of funds to start anew. Until then just gonna keep enjoying the plants that are growing okay.

Well good luck with your classes!
