What is the best light you have used in your tank, viewing fish only?
I'm currently using a 48" strip with a 6500k 32w bulb and while is ok, I don't feel is the best light for bringing out colors in an African cichlid tank and it's bright. Are LED better for bringing out colors than a strip?
It seems LED's are pricey but I'm willing to make a small investment if it really makes a difference.
So far I've only tried a 5000k, way to bright and the 6500k that I'm now using.
Any input appreciated, thanks.

I have the razor maxspect, fantastic slick light, features sunrise and sunset - you control the settings, and has multiple color LEDs controllable with dimmer - programmed and set

Sump filtration - Long noodles, 3 Layers Filter Pads. Carbon

UVIEW sterilizer

CO2 with inline reactor

ADA fertilising

ADA soil setup

RAZOR LED lighting

Twinstar

Tank - 2 - HOME

Juwel 120 litre tank - setup Dec - 2010

Fluval 406, cannister

The maxspect costs a small fortune! I believe the finnex is more up my alley.

Gilpi, but does the cheaper one have sunset/sunrise and fans to keep your drivers cool, I have tested a few and have found the cheaper ones just that, lacking the longterm functions that make aquarium viewing a pleasure.. Set and forget - sunrise, color spectrum to suit, inbuilt timer, sunset - and during the summer when the heat in the room may be an issue auto fans come on to cool the drivers..
