Best skimmer for a 40 breeder

Title says it all. What is the best skimmer for a 40 breeder that I want to be a reef.because I am slowly collecting all my equipment for it because I'm a teenager and I don't have a lot of money to drop at once on a tank.

What about the reef octopus bh-90 HOB. I need a HOB because I have no sump.
