Another coworker is cycled for the first time ever (after killing many fish).

He likes the betta and I encouraged his thinking because the tank is only 5g.

I feel sure he can add a few ghost shrimp and the frog without issue..but I always defer to the folks who may know something I don't.
Is it cool?

Thanks,

Well Bettas are known to kill shrimp and dont know about frogs. I would just start him out with the betta and then if he maintains the tank get a frog.

The ghost shrimp will most likely be fine in with the Betta but that piece of advice depends on the size of the shrimp. However in my experience the aquatic frogs dont last very long in with Bettas, espically if the tank is small. Too little space the the Betta will become territorial. Hope that helps.
