BGK growing

So I had two BGK in my tank and I had to rehome one of them cause he wasn't growing at all and the other one has almost doubled in size and was picking on him. What would make on grow at an extremely fast pace and the other one not grow. They both were eating like cows. What would make the one grow and not the other?

Sounds like one was clearly sneaking his veggies under the table and giving them to the catfish
