Was reading a few of the topics and seen people saying that I wouldn't need the Bio-wheel if I had live rock was just wondering if that is the right thing to do.
That is correct. As long as you have about 1.5 lbs of liverock per gallon, you would not need the bio-wheel. Many will say that the bio-wheel will actually lead to increased nitrates in the tank. Just use a good protein skimmer, some powerheads, and the liverock and you should be all set.
