Birth help?

So my platy has been pregnant and today, I noticed the spot to darker than normal. I have no idea about anything dealing with fry/fish birth so can someone help?

If a platy is similar to guppies then the dark spot is an indicator that the babies will drop soon.

The more boxy she is, the closer she is to dropping. There are usually no complications and if you don't want to keep the fry, just let the big fish eat them. If you want to raise them, ask us about that.
