Bleaching plants

I have some algae covered plastic plant and was planning on dipping them in bleach to get rid of the algae and overall grossness.
Would putting them in bleach fade out there colors?

Why not use vinegar instead? As for the original question, depends of how hard of a scrub you give it and the material that the artificial material is made out of.
