Blowing Detrius

I got an idea tonight to use my turkey baster to blow the "detrius" from the rocks.... a few minutes later I got the idea to put a clump of filter floss in my wet/dry to catch all the poo....... any of you guys ever do this????

I was also thinking that it might be a good way to hook up the filter feeders.... maybe something to do once a week ..... sound right????

Its always a good idea to try to keep the detritus in suspension. I do this every once in a while also.

I do this about once a week. And again when I do a water change. I use the turkey baster to force water into the sand and this agitates the sand and puts any algea growing on the surface of the sand to the bottom. Its a good way to keep your water clear.
