Brown algae aka diatom

I believe I am going through a diatom outbreak but I wanted some more opinions from everyone on AA. It does come off rather easy and it is really only showing on the plants and rocks. If it is diatoms what is the best way to get rid of silicates. Here are some pics.

It looks more like a debris build up than anything honestly. Try using a turkey baster to blow it off. Diatoms should stick to the leaves.
 
Definitely detritus. You need to increase circulation/flow in the tank. I use small nano powerheads if I need to add more flow to keep detritus in suspension so it doesn't settle on leaves.
