Bugs in my HOB Filter

I went to change the filter ctg in my Penguine 300 Bio-Wheel filter today, I shut it off, pulled out the GAC bag I run in it, and noticed something moving. I then pulled the filter ctg out and tons of little bugs were crawling around on it. They looked like pods in a SW tank. I have never seen this in FW before. Whats up with that?

Anyone? I cant be the only person with what looks like pods in my FW tank.

I can't say as I have had that problem. Are they too small to get a pic of?

They kinda look like this....But these are Amphipods in SW. I have them in my FW filter.

BTW...I added a SEIO pump to this tank about a month ago. It was in my SW tank before that. Could pods have been in the PH and migrated over? If so, How is it they are surviving in FW?
