So, I finally got my hands on an ottocat today! However, I left him in his little bag for 2 hours (I was driving around then I let him accumulate for 40 minutes while I walked my dog) and now his little fins are clamped and the area around his eye is bloody. I have so much bettafix on hand and no other medication, but because it’s tree oil I was wondering if it would help reduce the pain and calm him down so his fins open up again. He’s been very stressed out for about 5 hours now, hiding toward the walls of my 5 gal hospital tank. I’m trying to move him to my 10 gal in 2 weeks so I want him to be ok!

Bettafix and melafix are the same thing. Both are a mild antiseptic that more prevent than cure bacterial infections. Bettafix is 0.1% melaleuca oil and Melafix is 0.2%, so it's a little stronger. They'll both basically do the same thing (if anything at all)
