While cleaning my impeller today, I washed one of those little black end pieces down the drain. Will it still run properly without that?

Which black end piece? Can you post a picture? I doubt it will work right, it might not spin right

If you're talking about the piece that sits on the end of the impeller shaft... no.... you can't run it without it, unless you want to risk ruining the entire motor assembly.

It was just the little black piece. Kind of like a grommet. Seems to be ok although it is rattling a bit. I will call marineland tomorrow. Thanks. Hopefully it will hold until I can get replacement, as I don't really have a back up.
